Some typical guests' reviews:
"The Palazzo Gamba was a beautiful apartment with an absolutely incredible view. From our balcony we faced the Duomo on our left and the Baptistry on our right. You could not ask for a better location in Florence. The staff was friendly and helpful and assisted us in getting reservations at the Accademia and the Uffici. Our only (very minor) complaint was the very loud people in the apartment next to us. Overall, I highly recommend the Palazzo Gamba and its staff."
"Rooms are gorgeous. Location is also good. Just right next to Duomo and near the train station."
"Best money I've ever spent on a hotel room."
"We were very pleased with the apartment (except the windows in the living room/kitchen area were very small)."
"Wow! What an incredible location! The front door of the building is located 30 steps from the plaza of the Duomo (I counted them). We were a 10 minute walk from both the Uffizi in one direction and from the Academia in the other direction. The suite was comfortable, with enough space for our party of four. The view of the street was pleasant but it was noisy even at night because of the older windows. The kitchen is nicely equipped with utensils, plates, and silverware. However, it lacks dishwashing detergent, sponges, and paper towels which need to be obtained from the nearby market (5 minute walk). There is a dishwasher but no microwave. I can't think of a more convenient location, literally right next to the Duomo. The value was unbeatable, and we would definitely stay here again!"
"Great location right next to the Duomo. We could see the Gates of Paradise from our window. Everything was very close. The rooms were spacious and clean. I would recommend staying here."
"Magical experience. Being at the Duomo put us in the center of town. The view out our window (the Suite) was wonderful. As we sat with our elbows on the windowsill watching the world, we got the feeling that this was our neigbhorhood! Traffic noise at night took getting used to, but on balance well worth it! (TIP: Eat at Il Sasso de Dante, nearby.)"
"The two room appartment was clean and tidy on arrival. The bedroom was very nicely fitted out, the living area more basic. The bathroom small which could have been made bigger if they had done away with the useless bidet! The kitchen was basic although there is a dishwasher. The building is right in the centre next to the ‘duomo’ so there is quite a lot of noise from outside. Very handy being in the centre as we could pop back for lunch and put our feet up. The central food market (Marcato Centrale) is very close and great!!"
"Our stay in the suite at Palazzo Gamba has been very pleasant, the apartment has a splendid terrace with a breathtaking view over the duomo, and the staff have been extremely helpful. The Palazzo is in a very central location, and you can very easily walk everywhere in the historical centre of the city."
"Oh my goodness! I can't say enough things about this magnificent hotel. The frescos, the kitchen. We felt like Medici Dukes! The two bedroom apartment is a great deal for family groups. Ask for the Suite."
"The room very clean and large, look out on the Duomo. The place is Great."
"Our room in the palazzo was incredible: what a surprise to find ourselves in a palace just in front of the cathedral, in a spacious accommodation, with splendid furniture and a terrific service. Thanks to the hotel for their effort in offering us the privilege of staying in such a wonderful location for an extremely reasonable price."
