Boccaccio Hotel in Florence Some typical guests' reviews:
"Excellent hotel! Will go back there on next visit!!! Thks to Venere !!!"
"Very convenient to Train station (you can actually see the Hotel from the front steps of the station), yet still close to all tourist sites in old Florence. The room was quiet even though on a main street. We would definitely stay at Boccaccio Hotel again."
"We enjoyed our stay at Boccaccio very much. The stuff was extremly friendly, they answered all the questions about the city etc. The room and bath were very clean and lovely furnished. All the citysights are near - you don't need a bus or car. The mainstation is three minutes to walk, a supermarket is round the corner. Next time in Firenze - there is only one possibility for hotel -> Boccaccio !"
"Good hotel, especially if you are arriving by bus or train to Florence and you don't want a long trip to your hotel. You can see it from either station. The manager was very welcoming and helpful. Both he and the receptionists were happy to give directions on where to eat and how to get to certain places."
"The hotel is located right by the train station, which was very convenient. It was a short walk to all the sights we wanted to see. A nice touch was all the fresh flowers throughout the hotel---very fragrant, pretty, and welcoming. I would stay here again if I went back to Florence."
"When we arrived in the late evening, we were very happy to see the Hotel Boccaccio from the piazza in front of S. M. Novella station. It was just a short walk to the entrance. Once we were welcomed to Florence by our innkeeper, Domenico, everything about this establishment far exceeded our expectations. He has every reason to be proud of this property. The beautiful marble, the woodwork, the moldings, and the finishes and the furnishings were fabulous. Our innkeeper was on duty 24/7 during our stay (because his brother was ill), and he could not have been more friendly or more gracious and helpful. Following his instructions, we were able to see more of the attractions of the city than we had expected. We certainly wish we could have stayed longer in Florence, but we certainly wouldn't consider staying anywhere but the Hotel Boccaccio when we return. It is now high on our list of the attractions in Florence. Gra-zi-e (thanks), again, Domenico, for all of your assistance."
"Great location! The bus from the airport stops just in front of the hotel, and the walk to the train station is minimal. The staff was courteous and helpful, especially Daniele. The Belcore restaurant, just nextdoor on Via dell'Albero, offered great food and outstanding hospitality."
"Hotel was easy to find. The initial welcome was excellent with some great information given on Florence, where to go and how to get there. The hotel itself was well appointed with excellent standard of rooms, great bathroom/shower facilities, safe and very good sized rooms. General decor was first class and more than expected for this level of hotel. All in all it was a wonderful hotel, great and friendly service. I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel and look forward to staying there again."
"We loved our stay at Boccacio and we'll definitely stay at this hotel again! Of the 5 hotels we stayed at on this trip, this was easily the best! Nice and helpful staff. They let us store our luggage before checkin and even after checkout until it was time for our train. And it was really "service with a smile". Decent sized room with clean sheets and working a/c. Nicely fitted bathroom with a good shower. The hotel is located on a sidestreet within 100 paces of the main train station. Florence is a small town and all the main sights are easily covered on foot. If you're feeling lazy, the bus stop is also right next to the train station. Even though this is so close to the station, the room was very quiet (it was facing away from the road)."
"Our stay at Boccaccio was very nice and a real value. The room was clean, spacious and nicely furnished and only a stones throw from the train station. The breakfast in the morning was great with a pleasant staff attending to our needs. There was internet available in the lobby and a travel agent next door that helped us with our tickets at some of the museums. Great Value!"
"We were very happy with this hotel. The air conditioning was switched on in the room when we arrived. There was a TV, a safe and even a minibar in the room. The bathroom was pristine with enough towels to dry five people. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast consisted of cereals, croissants, juice, yoghurts and tea/coffee. It is an ideal base for a visit to Florence."
"Extremely convinient to train station (1 block) and auto rental drop offs. Well appointed recently renovated rooms with sound-proofing windows. Extremely clean. The staff was always very professional and helpful. Breakfast was good and the public rooms very pleasant. My wife and I will definately stay at Boccaccio on our next trip and will recommend it to traveling friends."
"Hotel was conveniently located within short walking distance( 2 minutes) of the train station. In fact, we walked to all the major sites in Florence with ease."
"If had rm svc etc etc would be a 5 star hotel. Staff were fabulous - pleasant, helpful, knowledgeable, etc, etc. Would definitely stay here again."
"Excellent value for money. Very helpful and friendly staff - nothing was too much trouble. Hotel was spotlessly clean. Very comfortable bed with clean bedlinen and towels daily. Highly recommended and we would love to return."
"Close enough to the city center to make walking a pleasant means of getting around."
"My husband and I stayed in Venice, Florence and Rome. Of all of the places we stayed, the Boccaccio was by far the best. The room was clean and spacious. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The hotel is also very conveniently located. An excelent nearby tratoria is 13 Gobbi. Ask at the desk for directions. A reservation is also a good idea. Additionally, the hotel will make advance reservations for you at the local museums. This was worth the fee, since you escape the wait for ticket purchases."
"Good location. We were travelling by car and were able to find it easily and were able to leave the city with no problems. There is a travel agency in the same building which made it very convenient for arranging tours of the city. The desk person recommended a Trattoria that was very good with reasonable prices. Parking is 23 euro per day extra, but not a bad deal in the city."
"An excellent choice of hotel. Breakfast substantial. Staff very helpful. Quality at a decent price."
"Thank you Hotel Boccaccio, for making our stay in Florence so very pleasurable. From our visit greeting unitl we signed out(and had help with booking our next night's accomodation in Lucca)our hosts was superb! Our room was spacious and extremely comfortable, the breakfast was excellent with delightfully attentive service."
"We stayed in four different hotels over a 10 day period and this by far was the best property in our $100 to $125 per night price range. It is walking distance from the train station and has a travel agent next door who can assist with rail reservations. The desk staff spoke english and were very helpful with museum reservations and our other "tourist" questions."
"First impressions of the outside of the hotel I was a little concnered, however once inside it was a true oasis. Staff helpful and informative, and yes the day receptionist may talk a lot but it was refreshing to fine."
"A wonderful hotel only a few easy steps from the train and bus stations."
"A charming hotel in a most romantic city. I enjoyed my stay at the Boccaccio very much, and only wish my visit had lasted longer. Mille grazie."
"Very convient to train station, friendly helpful staff with great recommendations for dinner. Rooms were spotless, quiet, and comfortable. Great breakfast! Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone."
"It is not possible to do something else than to recommand this hotel. All commentaries I have seen before booking were confirmed when we arrived (from the 20 euros/day for the parking and the twins instead of a double bed :-) to the great quality of the rooms, the staff, the location, the price vs quality...). No doubt that we will return there if we return to Florence..."
"This is a great hotel. Arrived at 3.00 am and they looked after us. This is an excellent hotel with great value for money. Location is very good with access to all tourist sites within 5 to 10 minutes walk. Station was a 3 minute walk. Did not hear any trains at the hotel. Found a few good well priced restaurants closeby. Had clean bedlinen each day. Breakfast was very fine with plenty to eat.Lots of hot water for showers etc. Would definitely recommend (highly) and would definitely return to this hotel!! ...NO COMPLAINTS."
"My holiday in Firenze was certainly complemented by the the quality of the Hotel Boccaccio. Everything from location ( virtually 1 minute away from central railway and bus station station) to hygiene, service, courtesy etc. was perfect. I will reccomend it with confidence to everyone and I will choose it again in my next trip to Firenze."
"This was our 4th trip to Italy and the location and hotel worked well. The train station was a block away and most of the historical area was well within walking for us. The owners and staff were great and very helpful."
"We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Boccaccio. The rooms were beautiful, the bed comfortable. The bathroom looked as though they had just been remodeled. The lobby was set up with a computer and internet so I was able to email home at every chance I could. Domenico and the other staff was very pleasant and we enjoyed talking and practicing our Italian with them. I would stay here again without hesitation and recommend Hotel Boccaccio to everyone."
"A GREAT LITTLE BOUTIQUE HOTEL. THE KIND OF PLACE I READ ABOUT BUT CAN RARELY AFFORD. THIS PLACE IS A BRAND NEW RENNOVATION, WHICH EXPLAINED THE SUPER LOW PRICE WE PAID. THE BEST CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST WE HAD IN ITALY AND THE STAFF WAS GREAT IN GETTING US RESRVATIONS TO MUSEUMS AND POINTING OUT THINGS TO SEE. EVEN ITEMS IN THE MINI-BAR WERE REASONABLY PRICED. FIVE STARS!"
"We enjoyed this hotel the most in our 5 city tour of Italy. The staff was helpful and friendly and the rooms were very clean. This hotel is also close to a nice laundry mat."
"I don’t know too much about hotel rating, but The Boccaccio is a very good hotel in terms of price/quality, very clean, the room was apparently brand new, the bathroom was "immaculate”. The staff very friendly, and because the hotel seems to be refurbished recently, everything looks new and tidy (including the room)."
"The location is fantastic; a very short walk to the Duomo or Ponte Vecchio. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They were able to secure a reservation for us to the Academia museum so that we could walk right in and bypass the huge line. Theyy also gave us some great restaurant and shopping recommendations. The hotel has internet access in the lounge, and although it was not free, it was quite inexpensive. I forget the exact price, but I think it was somthing like $3 for a half hour. The new parts of the hotel are gorgeous, they've done an excellent job so far."
"The hotel was wonderful. Fairly quiet compared to other Italian hotels. The staff was superb--friendly, helpful and funny."
"I highly rate the hotel and staff. There is nothing I can fault them on. I will certainly recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Florence and will have no hesitation in using the hotel again."
"We had a wonderful experience staying here. The reception staff coudn't have been more friendly - or helpful. For the most part everyone spoke better English than we did. Our room was was spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated. The room sat almost directly over the town river, which made sleeping a very peaceful experience at night."
"The owners (Caporale family) and the staff were the friendliest and most helpful of all hotels we visited in our life. This hotel just renovated is superb! At present, the web site does not to justice to the real quality of the hotel. Their service was wonderful, room and bathroom very clean and well decorated. Excellent position, breakfast plentiful and delicious, especially "the cappuccino", georgeous marble floors and statues, tasteful furniture and courtains. As we spent a very pleasant stay in Boccaccio Hotel, we would recommend it to anyone."
"For the price, the hotel was very good. The staff were very welcoming and friendly as well as being very knowledgable about Florence. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone, especially those wishing to spend more of their money on enjoying what Florence has to offer rather than on accommodation."

Our room was cool, and quiet - both essential for our comfort as it was very hot, and Florence was busy. The location was excellent, allowing us to return to the hotel during the day as it was only a stonesthrow from the centre. The breakfast had a wide choice of items, all of a high standard."

Great breakfast, free internet use, extremely helpful English speaking manager (reservations for museums, cabs, etc.; excellent restaurant advice (be sure to eat at il Messere)). Good windows so street noise not too bad, interior rooms I imagine would be even quieter. Very good location, next to Medici-Riccardi, minutes from Duomo, Accademia, San Marco, San Lorenzo. "This hotel really fit the bill for us -- the room easily accomodated our family of four, the staff (especially Barbara at the front desk) were very helpful, and the location was an easy (5-10 minute) walk to the Duomo but far enough away to escape the crowds. And the coffee really is excellent! We highly recommend it."

"Great hotel with wonderful location in Firenze. My family and I really enjoyed our stay."
"Excellent hotel, but noisy due to wooden floors and large rooms. Brilliant decor and generally recommended."

"I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone. This is my second time in Florence and my husband and I had a wonderful time. The front desk staff, especially Barbara was most helpful. Our room was very nice in terms of size and cleanliness. The shower situation was strange because it didn't have a shower curtain so everything got wet. Once we were used to it, it was not a big deal. The location of the hotel was pretty ideal. It's a 5 minute walk to the l'Academia to see "David" and about 10 minutes to the Duomo. I would definitely recommend the hotel to friends and family!"
"We really enjoyed our stay here, it was a beautiful and comfortable hotel. We had choosen this hotel because previous reviews had said that the rooms were large and they were right, there was plenty of room for the 4 of us in our quad room and we even spread out on the floor one night for a very late picnic dinner when we were too tired to go out. "The hotel and the service was excellent and our stay at the hotel complimented our vacation."
"This hotel proved to be a very good choice. It is within walking distance of the train station(with a rolling suitcase)& away, but not too far away, from the crush of other tourists down in the center. Front desk staff were friendly,& very helpful with information & museum reservations. The room was quiet, well laid out with a sparkling glamorous bathroom. Three stars hotels in Florence

California Hotel in Florence - the view from a room California Hotel is a three stars hotel few yards from the Duomo, in the very heart of Florence.
California Hotel is on the second floor of a historic building, recently refurbished, very peaceful and comfortable, in surroundings totally immersed in the atmosphere of Renaissance Florence, so much so that there are still original ornaments, frescoes and stucco work of the Renaissance period in many bedrooms and public areas.
The hotel is few minutes' walk to the central railway station and all main tourist attractions and sights.
The 22 rooms, in Florentine style, are spacious and full of light. Breakfast can be served on the roomy garden-terrace.
All rooms have en-suite bathroom in white Carrara marble, air conditioning, telephone, televison, safe, hair-dryers; some rooms, in addition, have mini bar.
Some rooms have views of the cupola of the Duomo.
California Hotel in Florence - the garden Some typical guests' reviews:
"Fabulous! Breakfast on the charming terrace, 1 Euro beer in the evening, comfortable bed, front desk staff knew who we were every time we walked through the door...I can't say enough good things. Security at the hotel is excellent: buzz to be let in on ground floor and someone at reception by the time you climb the steps (or wait for the elevator). Elevator worked fine, but we didn't use it. Hotel is only one floor up from ground, but it was a very long flight of stairs apparently because the ceilings are so high. Lovely room, great staff, terrific amenities -- we'll definitely book California Hotel if we go back to Firenze!"
"Very welcoming staff. Enjoyed ourselves very much."
"This property has an excellent location for the City centre and most tourist attractions. There are some good restaurants close by at reasonable prices. The room we were allocated had a small balcony with a couple of seats, ideal for having a cigar, a drink and a quiet read. The hotel staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Bar prices were astonishing, 1 euro for a beer and 1 euro for glass of wine, a refreshing change from being ripped off by mini-bar prices. Breakfast was good with fresh fruit, pastries and the usual cheese. For a budget hotel this was one of the best we have stayed in and would certainly reccommend it to others. The outside terrace allowed the four of us to meet up of an evening for a few drinks and a chat over where to eat and what we had seen during the day on the tourist trail."
"Good value for Florence, also good location."
"From downstairs as we entered, we didn't know what to expect. However, the room was very clean and large with a nice big shower. Family operated and very pleasant. I would definitely recommend it."
"We were given a room with a small terrace outside room with a great view of the duomo. Were close enough to see people taking pictures at the top of the cupola. Also close enough to hear beautiful bells in the morning. Will stay here again when returning to Firenze."
"California was really nice. Friendly staff carried our bags to the door and showed us the local sights. We only spent one night in Florence but wish we had stayed longer."
" California Hotel is worth the price. Our room was average, but the bathroom larger than average for a 3 star. The breakfast was better than other hotels, and the location is very good, about a 15 minute walk from the train station. The staff courteous and helpful. Highly recommend for the value."
"The location of the hotel in terms of sightseeing was very good, being a few minutes walk away from the Duomo. It was about 15 minutes walk from the railway station when you take into account getting across the very busy roads! My single room was OK in terms of size (but nothing special) and the bathroom appeared to have been recently refurbished to a good standard. There was a very nice open patio with chairs and umbrellas. I was made very welcome and was given plenty of useful information on places to eat."
"Great people in charge...friendly and they spoke enough English to help us through. Hotel is right in the heart of the city and near all sites. Immaculate rooms--with view of the Duomo and fabulous sky. Only downside was some noise coming from the courtyard below but only during the day. The bells woke us daily at 7am--a welcome and beautiful sound."
"Our two night stay at the California Hotel was thoroughly enjoyable. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, well equipped (including mosquito repellent) and the air conditioning was a blessing. Breakfast was good...self service with ample choice. Small bar at reception area offered beverages through-out the day and evening at excellent prices. Good value 3* hotel, would not only recommend this hotel but would definitely stay there again."
"This Hotel was in a good location, even though the entrance is not appealing. It is in a building that also has offices that share the entrance. Not to worry, the room are big and very clean. The price was right! I would stay here again."
"Excellent stay and location for the Florence historic area. Hotel employees are exemplary and breakfast superior."
"Great choice! Good location between Duomo and Academia. Spacious room and bathroom. Convenient bulletin board with useful postings."
"Entrance to hotel on street level was dark and forbidding, but once we found the hotel on the 3rd floor, it was very comfortable and welcoming."
" California Hotel was as promised and met all of our expectations. The location is close to all the ususal tourist sites. the staff was very helpful. It was great to be in walking distance to everything including the train station. I would go back without any hesitation."
"Clean, spacious and attractive rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Quiet street with convient central location. Lovely breakfast buffet. Overall an excellent three star choice."
"My sister and I stayed there and loved it. They were a great group of people to work with. We had a double and the room was quite spacious, with a high ceiling, a lot of character and plenty of storage space. They even have a packet of tourist information in each room as well as at the front desk. The bathrooms athough not huge, were very adequate and clean. The shower was not near (or on) the toilet as one of the other places we stayed. The breakfast was nice as well. More continental in style, but with many options. We could choose from cereal, yogurt, fruit, croissants, with many drink selections for hot beverages and cold. It was buffet style, so you could get refills or additional items if desired, no quantity restraints. I would certainly recommend this place. It is 5 min walk to the duomo, a very central location."
"delightful location...accomodating and helpful staff."
"It's been a wonderful stay, the room accommodation very comfortable, clean and very well equipped. A first class service. Congratulations!!"

Villa Liana Hotel in Florence Villa Liana Hotel is a three stars hotel very close to the delightful Piazza D'Azeglio garden square, 15-20 minutes' walk to the Duomo and the heart of Florence, easily reachable from ring roads.
The hotel is in a villa built in the 19th century. It has private car parking and a beautiful garden.

The hotel has both rooms and apartments, spacious and bright, most of them with 19th century's frescoes.
All rooms & apartments have en-suite bathroom & air conditioning.
Some typical guests' reviews:
"A good hotel with good services. I would stay there again."
"Our stay has been excellent and comfortable; we very much appreciated our very beautiful room, spacious, with beautiful antique furniture. Particularly good and rich breakfast."
"It is a bit far away from the City center. However, if you don't mind walking 20 minutes or 5.00 euro to city then this will be a good place to stay."
"A fantastic hotel. Remarkable is the quality of breakfast - it's excellent, especially if you expected a much smaller Italian breakfast."
"We enjoyed a five-day stay at the Liana. Our only concern about the Liana was that it seemed on maps to be quite distant from the center of Florence but, in fact, the #31 bus from the station dropped us at the very pleasant park, Piazza Massimo d'Azeglio, a short walk from the hotel, in less than 15 minutes. A walk to the Duomo only required 20 minutes, and the neighborhood was very well-served by buses. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The desk clerk made reservations for us at the Galleria degli Uffizi, which meant we spent almost no time waiting in line. The breakfast buffet was very nicely presented. Our room was quite large and quiet, with a large and modern bathroom, shower only. The hotel has a garden and parking facilities on its property. We recomment it highly."

General price range per room or apartment
Single, double, triple & quadruple rooms: 60 - 280 euros
Apartments sleeping 2: 100 - 250 euros

Duomo Hotel in Florence - a view Duomo Hotel is a three stars hotel in a dream location, right in Piazza Duomo, the cathedral square, the heart of Florence since time immemorial.
Duomo Hotel offers its guests both the comforts of a modern hotel and a family atmosphere.
Needless to say, its truly prime location means that everything is few minutes' walk from the hotel, including all attractions and the central train station.
It has a lift, a bar, a breakfast room and benefits from special terms at a nearby garage.
All rooms have en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, colour TV, telephone.
Many rooms have impressive views of the Cathedral.
Some typical guests' reviews:
"The Hotel is in a perfect location. Every road leads back to the Duomo."
"The hotel "Duomo" was a wonderful surprise. The location cannot be beat and the fact that we opened our window and had part of the Duomo right in front of us was like a fairy tale. The rooms and the hotel are very clean and the daily breakfast was again a nice surprise with all of our needs addressed immediately. The location of the hotel, right in the heart of the city could not be better with lots of Restaurants, shopping and most museums etc. within very easy walking distance. We would recommend this hotel to anyone that is looking for good value for their money and a little bit more."
"The Duomo Hotel fulfilled all our criteria for a city break hotel. Central location, clean simple rooms, pleasant staff, satisfactory breakfast and appropriately priced. We (two adults) had a good-sized room overlooking the cathedral and would definitely return there again."
"This hotel is very convenient for all the museums and galleries. It provided excellent service and facilities for the price and altogether had a most pleasant atmosphere with very helpful staff. I would not hesitate to return."
"The location and cost were very good."
"Of the places I stayed in Italy, this hotel had to be my favorite. The room was excellent - comfortable bed, intelligently laid out, clean, new sheets, mini-fridge, and best of all, the bathroom: soft towels, enough towel racks, modern fixtures. Staff were extremely helpful - providing directions, suggestions and all sorts of help (at all hours). Almost all the rooms - even mine around the corner of the building - had a great view of the cathedral, and it is well within walking distance of anything of interest, not to mention the delightful little grocery not far from the hotel."
"Excellent location and very friendly professional staff. We were very pleased with our short stay."
"I found the Duomo to be extremely well located. The staff were excellent."
"Great location as it is close to the train station. Staff was very helpful in providing guidance and help in making reservations."
"Thank you for the wonderful room, location, view and staff. Our stay was great."
"We found the Duomo Hotel to be comfortable and convenient. The breakfast table had a variety of nutritious choices. One employee, Sonia, was extremely welcoming and helpful. We would happily stay there again."
"Fantastic views. Was exactly the same as the photo on the net. Double glazed windows block out most of the noise from the square and, since it's pedestrianised, you only tend to hear the motorinini motorbikes. Had a great time and would go back."
"The hospitality of the staff and the location were perfect for me and my friends for a quick weekend trip. Definitely would recommend this place to others -- it had character!"
"We loved our stay at the Hotel Duomo, from location to service everything was the best..the staff was always available to answer our questions and help with sightseeing..."
"Great location. Reasonably priced. Good sized room and a very nice breakfast. Personnel were exceptionally friendly and helpful."
"In the front of the Duomo, Its location is excellent. Rooms are spacious. I´d repeat."
"Very clean and comfortable. Eveyone very friendly and helpful. I was especially pleased to find the air-conditioning was efficient. Breakfast fine. In close sight and sound of the Duomo itself. Only slight criticism - rather difficult to find the hotel on first arrival. I shall certainly return."
"The Duomo Hotel is a comfortable and friendly hotel in an excellent central location. Perfect for exploring Florence. We had a view of the Duomo itself from the room. The staff were really helpful, and the room comfortable and clean."
"The best part of this hotel is the location. It's within walking distance of everything you could want to see in Florence. The room was good-sized with an amazing view of the Duomo."
"A lovely, friendly hotel who were happy to converse in English. The hotel is situated in THE perfect location, being directly opposite the Duomo in the centre of Florence and just 5 minutes walk from the main railway station. It's located on the edge of the pedestrian zone, so taxi's can pull up directly outside, but there is only one street to cross before reaching the main, car-free, centre of Florence. The area is buzzing at night, so very safe to return to the hotel at any time of night. I'll definately go back the next time we go to Florence."
"The Duomo was a real treat. The location was great! It was wonderful overlooking the Duomo right outside our balcony. Hotel staff was second to none. Very friendly and courteous and helpful."
"The hotel was as I expected, the employees were very friendly, and the location excellent. Plus an abundant breakfast."
"The location was fantastic, the staff friendly, the room had a view of the Duomo Dome, the room was not luxurious but was quite nice all the same. I definitely enjoyed my stay there and would recommend it to others in the Florence area."
"The Hotel is very well located! Me and my wife were very happy there! Thanks for your attention!"
"Staff was exceptional. Hotel is quaint and the location couldn't be better! I would certainly recommend this hotel!"

Torre Guelfa Hotel in Florence - a view from the rooftop terrace Torre Guelfa Hotel is a three stars hotel few yards from Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery, in the heart of Florence historical centre, few minutes' walk to the Duomo and all other attractions and to the central rail station.
Said to be "the tallest private building in Florence", the Torre Guelfa is a 13th century Florentine tower offering amazing views over the city, a refined atmosphere and 15 selected rooms for a few guests.
Torre Guelfa Hotel in Florence Some typical guests' reviews:
"The atmoshpere thoughout the Torre Guelfa Hotel was wonderfully relaxing, elegant, and interesting. The tower was a nice retreat for the busy city below. The room photos on the website were good, but the photo of the tower does not do justice to the experience."
"Torre Guelfa is a wonderful hotel, the rooms were great and the view from the tower are unbelieveable. The staff are welcoming and helpful, suggesting a great restaurant, and helping to find another."
"This was a wonderful hotel. It is better than it was described."
Torre Guelfa Hotel in Florence "Our stay at The Torre Guelfa was very positive. We would reccommend staying at the hotel to our friends. The staff was very helpful, especially with restaurant reccommendations. The location was great and the view from the tower, awesome!"
"We enjoyed our stay at your hotel, and especially loved the "tower" and the photo opportunities up there. The staff was very helpful. Thanks for your hospitality."
"This was a wonderful experience."
"Very nice people. Was surprised at the entry as the hotel is on the 3rd floor (had not realized that) but the elevator worked great and we enjoyed our stay."
"Loved my visit to Florence at the Torre Guelfa Hotel . Would definitely stay in their hotel again. Fantastic views from the tower and the staff was extremely helpful."
"What an interesting hotel. The tower terrace view is breathtaking! The reception staff was very curtious and helpful. This is not your normal hotel experience, but we found it a nice change and made our trip to Florence more interesting. I recommend it."
"Terrific site, gracious staff, quiet. Lovely play to stay."
"Wonderful service attitude and attention. The hotel was wonderfully located and provided an extremely pleasant place to headquarter for our stay in Firenze. Would reccommend to anyone wanting a perfect place to stay."
"This is the second year that we have returned to the Torre Guelfa--we love it! The location is superb and the view from the tower is tremendous. Everything about the hotel is great! We hope to return again."
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Torre Guelfa. Its location was perfect and the views over the city from the tower were magnificent. We would happily recommend this hotel to friends and family."
"The room had a separate section which, if furnished, would have made a small suite and would have been especially nice. The hotel's location is excellent for walking everywhere and the staff was very helpful and polite, but there's no doubt the hotel's best quality is its tower. A very nice young woman operates a small bar at the tower's top from 6-9 in the evening -- enjoying the sunset above the Florentine rooftops was fabulous and gave us a break from the madding crowd. While one indeed pays for this privilege, its uniqueness may be just what you need to make your stay in Firenze a little extra special."
"An excellent hotel with fantastic facilities, location and surroundings."
"If you want a romantic stay in a beautiful and an unusual hotel - this is the place to stay. The tower on top of the Torre Guelfa Hotel is an absolutely fabulous place for pre dinner drinks with the most spectacular views we have seen - the Spumante isn't bad too."
"The room rates are a bit steep for a 3-star hotel, but you're paying for location (within steps of the Ponte Vecchio) and atmosphere. Views from the tower are fantastic and the rooftop bar is a great place for a late-afternoon drink (though you'll have to climb some stairs to get to it)."
"The location is fantastic, a few steps from the Ponte Vecchio and a couple of blocks from the Piazza della Signoria and the Uffizi. And they do have a medieval tower which is part of the property, and from which you get a fantastic view of the whole town and surrounding area; you can sit with a drink, look around and take pictures. And they do have a lift. All as claimed in their website."
"I would highly recommend the Torre Guelfa to anyone traveling to Florence. The location was excellent, just a few blocks from all of the major sites and museums. The sunset views from the private hotel tower were remarkable. The staff was extremely helpful and spoke fine English. They even confirmed our reservation and bus travel to our next destination. When we return to Florence, we will stay here again."
"We throroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Torre Guelfa. The location was excellent and the view from the tower was incomparable. The room was enjoyable and the staff (and the owner) were very helpful. There was nothing that we would change except for allowing for a longer stay in Florence. We look forward to returning next year."
